Person That Touched Ariana Grande during Film Launch Prohibited from Singapore
A man from Australia who jumped across a fence and touched actress Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.
The man, aged 26, was sentenced to more than a week in prison for disrupting public order and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the country's border control informed local media.
He forced his way beyond security and charged at the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian debut for the film on the thirteenth of November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.
He has a background of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including leaping onto the platform at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in the past June.
The event caused anger in Singapore, with several individuals saying he of causing further distress to the star.
The celebrity has spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the UK city in several years ago resulted in the deaths of 22 people and affected hundreds.
During Wen's trial, the judge was informed he had made efforts to breach on the movie's debut on two occasions, according to regional reports.
He then made a follow-up try to jump the barricades. Protection personnel prevented him and held him in place.
He then uploaded videos expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "free."
Authorities arrested him the next day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which the man admitted guilt.
The Court Judge Christopher Goh was quoted by Channel News Asia as stating that he was looking for publicity, adding that he was incorrect to believe he would not suffer any consequences.
The singer has not spoken about the situation.
Cynthia Erivo discussed the event to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to make sure my friend was protected."
"I think he had no intention to us danger, but you can't predict with these incidents, and I wanted to confirm that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she stated.
